(PR) Cincinnati, OH – For the second time in as many nights the Trenton Titans found themselves down just 1-0 through the first period with the top team in the North Division. But just like Friday, it was second period goals that proved to undo any hopes of a comeback.

Cincinnati (31-16-4-2=68 points) scored three goals in a span of under two minutes midway through the second period to take a 4-0 lead and eventual 5-2 home win before 5,083 fans at US Bank arena.

The Titans have now gone winless in their last seven games in Cincinnati (0-6-0-1), with their last road win there coming in a 4-2 decision on November 18, 2009.

The Cyclones grabbed the first period lead during a Titans power play. Mathieu Aubin led a 2-on-1 one break, finished by David MacDonald with a wrister past Scott Wedgewood (L, 35 saves, 15-18-3-1) for a short-handed goal less than six minutes into the first.

That score held until 11:48 were gone in second when Cincinnati exploded for three goals. When the clock showed 6:27 left in the period, Trevor Lewis, Mike Embach and Josh Shalla had given the Cyclones a 4-0 lead.

The lead jumped to 5-0 in a fight-marred third when Trenton (20-25-4-3=47 points) was finally able to solve Cyclone goalie Brian Foster (W, 24 saves, 18-6-4) in the final seven minutes. Jacob Drewiske (10) and Kory Nagy (5) were able to score a pair of hard-fought goals to ruin the shutout. For Drewiske, he would end the night with two points for the Titans.

Trenton, proud ECHL affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers, now takes its Travelling Stick Show back home for a three-game homestand, starting with a 1:00 pm President’s Day matinee on Monday with Elmira. It will conclude with Elmira again on Friday and Reading on Saturday (both 7:05 pm starts). All the action can be heard on 107.7 FM (Trenton area) and online at either or, with “The Bronc” Daryle Dobos, once again calling all the action.

I don’t blame you Mike for like the rest of us giving up on this franchise that is irrelevant, being coached by a borderline high-school coach and poorly marketed as evidenced by the sea of dark green empty seats that grows more and more each game..the Reading game 2 weeks ago in the snow had a joke attendence stat of 2911….I did a section by section head count and believe me there were not 450 people there…I thought Rich was better than this…..his ridiculous hanging on with an overmatched coach will cost him the playoffs again this year and with the total lack of fan support and apathy….may cost us all the FRANCHISE…no hockey in Trenton….after 15-20 games when Ray Charles could see that this team doesn’t respect the coach because he’s clueless, you could have cut the ties and been right in the playoff hunt..I firmly believe that….because this team is no bereft of talent, they just have no direction from an idiot…..ULLrich, Cepis, Todd, Degon, nice pickups by the scouting staff before and after the lockout purge…but with this guy behind the bench…sorry ain’t happening…Hockey is more than most sports about COACHING….Look at the Ottawa Senators 10-11, Corey Clouston, no clue, lost room, players lost respect, dreadful……11-12 bring Paul Mclean in there, knows what he’s doin’, players buy in, playoffs, take Rangers to game 7 as 8 seed…even now this year, lose Spezza & the best D in the league Karlsson for the season and they adjust and are still winning….COACHING !!!

Get Vince W out of here Rich, he is OVERMATCHED…end of story…
