Noebels Called Up To Adirondack

Here’s the before…

And here’s the after

The inevitable has happened, as forward Marcel Noebels has been recalled to the AHL’s Adirondack Phantoms.  The fourth-round draft choice produced at a point-per-game level during his stay with the Trenton Titans, and it may very well be the last time you see the 20-year-old German-born Flyers prospect in the capital city.

One of the prized prospects in Philadelphia’s system, Noebels scored 11 goals and added 19 assists in 31 games with Trenton this season, and his game-winner in overtime against countryman Philipp Grubauer gave the Titans their most recent win on Friday night.

Noebels departure — and it would be hard to envision him returning unless he really struggles at the next level — opens a spot in the lineup for David Laliberte, who will simply slot right into Noebels’ role as a top-six forward who will see significant power play time.

Laliberte is expected to be in the lineup when the Titans travel to face his old team, the Wheeling Nailers, in a January 4 matchup.

Precursor to the exodus from AHL / NHL & ECHL / AHL …..when the new NHL CBA gets signed and the games start in about 2 1/2 weeks…really going to see a lot of movement and teams that are real good now……might not be so good with the roster upheavels….I can see Reading losing 3 of their top 6 defenseman…..Fleming, Wellar back to Hershey & Urban already with Worcester…….don’t think that won’t affect them bigtime….Good move to get Laliberte ahead of time, if he’s 75% of the player he was before the knee….he’ll rack up numbers in this league, he can finish around the net……
