Zajac Joins Titans; Haczyk Placed On 21-Day IR

The Trenton Titans will have a new forward on the ice this weekend, but a familiar name. Kelly Zajac (pictured), brother of New Jersey Devils forward Travis Zajac and former Trenton Devils forward Darcy Zajac, has been assigned to the capital city by AHL Albany, for whom he had yet to play this season.

Zajac, 24, played in three games with Albany at the end of last season after finishing his collegiate career with Union. In 159 games with the Dutchmen, Zajac tallied 128 points, including 37 goals.

Unfortunately, Bryan Haczyk has been placed on the 21-Day IR after suffering an undisclosed injury in Wheeling on Wednesday. I’ll try to have a little more info on that after tonight’s tilt.

What’s this guys history, hopefully somebody that may actually be able to put the puck in the net?

Have seen him live twice…once at Princeton where he had a big game and another in last year’s NCAA Tournament in Bridgeport. Good college numbers but hard to see how that will transfer at pro level just yet.

Kelly Zajac I saw about 30 times in his college career for Union…nice player, high engine, he can finish around the net……hasn’t dressed yet this year for Albany, don’t know what that’s all about, maybe he was dinged up……I like Zajac, but I wish they would have sent McKelvie instead, I thought he looked good and fit in well when he was here…..
