6:00 PM — Niko Hovinen between the pipes tonight, folks.

4:25 PM — For anyone who cares, Kelly Zajac will be wearing #28.  And Bryan Haczyk’s injury is shoulder related…more details postgame.

3:30 PM — I’m sure there will be a day when I get here and something that doesn’t make the ice here even worse won’t be taking place.  Today is not that day.  Another junior game here to greet me as I walk into the building…yay.  If I knew anything about these kids, maybe I’d actually be more interested…but at this point, it’s pretty much a nuisance from me having somewhere quiet to catch up on work.

That rant aside, Elmira made a few moves today…rather than type them all up, here they are in handy dandy press release format from the Jackals:

The Elmira Jackals announced today a number of transactions prior to the game in Trenton against the Titans.

Defenseman Jimmy Martin has been traded to the Utah Grizzlies in exchange for future considerations. Martin, a second-year pro, had one goal and was a +4 in 13 games with the Jackals.

Forward Dustin Gazley has been loaned to the Jackals by the Binghamton Senators of the American Hockey League. Gazley was recalled from his loan to Elmira by Binghamton yesterday but did not play in the B-Sens’ win over Adirondack. The Jackals also placed Gazley on the reserve list upon his return from Binghamton.

Defenseman Chris Wideman has been reassigned by the National Hockey League’s Ottawa Senators to Binghamton. Wideman was reassigned to Elmira from Binghamton yesterday and registered one assist in the Jackals’ home game against Wheeling. He has five assists in five games with the Jackals this season and has also skated in six games with the B-Sens.

Defenseman Benjamin Dieude-Fauvel has been activated from the reserve list. The fourth-year pro from Bordeaux, France has logged three games with the Jackals so far this season.

Forward Darren Kramer was placed on the 21-day injured reserve. Kramer, a rookie, has three goals, two assists, and 31 penalty minutes in eight games with Elmira.
