Game 3: Pre-Game Notes

7:00 PM — Titans starters are: Banwell-Baier, Conboy-Drewiske-Slater…Philipp Grubauer starts in net for the Royals.

6:00 PM — Morin and Alexandre Carrier will be the scratches tonight.  Connor Goggin appears to be inactive as well.

Niko Hovinen will start in goal.

5:15 PM — The Titans have released forward Drew Akins, who was scratched in the season opener but scored a goal in his return to the lineup on the road in Reading.  Trenton has subsequently brought back Pierre-Olivier Morin, who has been cut and brought back approximately 7983479374096 times in the past two weeks.

Morin, 21, has averaged 53 points in his last three QMJHL seasons and is looking to make his pro debut.

3:20 PM — One quick note…just not on the Titans.  The AHL’s Hershey Bears have assigned defenseman Julien Brouillette (left) to the Reading Royals.  It seems like it’ll just be for a game or two, but he’s certainly capable of making a big impact at this level.

The 25-year-old played the entire season in the AHL last year and set AHL career highs in goals, assists and points.  He had spent two full seasons in the ECHL, as well as around a half of two others there before finally getting a full-time opportunity with the Bears.  He has three double-digit goal seasons in the ECHL under his belt, including an 11 goals in 23 games stint with Greenville in 2010-11.

3:00 PM — At the rink.  That makes one of us.  Nothing going on this early, I’ll be sure to update with any news on roster moves, scratches and so on as the night goes on.
