Versteeg, Grimshaw Returning To Trenton

Mitch Versteeg is back for another season with the Trenton Titans

The Titans were expected to announce on Monday that defensemen Mitch Versteeg and Ryan Grimshaw are returning for the 2012-13 season.

Versteeg provides some much needed size and grit to the club, and his physicality on the blue line was missed when he was out for 24 games due to injury last season.  In 48 games, the 6-foot-1, 200 pounder tallied four goals and added eight assists, racking up 66 penalty minutes along the way.

As for Grimshaw, he played in three games at the end of last season after his collegiate career ended at Harvard.  The 22-year-old, who is still looking for his first professional point, also played for his hometown Rochester Americans for a three-game stint as well.

great to hear Versteeg is back, he was actually a plus player before he got hurt…quite a feat on that shorthanded FHL laden defense…..Grimshaw…….can’t play, won’t last the year…..but I’m excited about this team this year, they’re going to be run the right way, Rich and his team won’t cut corners…all we need now is a Mannino-type veteran goaltender prescence and we’re on our way…
