Let My Cameron Go

According to their website, the Coventry Blaze of the British Elite Ice Hockey League have signed former Trenton Titans forward Dustin Cameron.  He’ll join former Titan Jerramie Domish and ex-NHL’er (and ex-con) Mike Danton there.

After splitting his first pro season between Elmira and Gwinnett in 2010-11, Cameron played all 72 games with Trenton last year and scored 22 goals while adding 25 assists.  It didn’t seem Trenton had much intent to bring him back, and they were believed to be looking to trade him to another team in the league outside of the division.

The knock on Cameron has been his play on the defensive side of the game, and perhaps for good reason.  He’s never been a plus player in his career — either in juniors or professionally — and is a -80 between the two levels.
