The Trenton Titans have added veteran defenseman Marvin Degon, but lost forward J.S. Berube on recall to the AHL’s Albany Devils.
Degon, 29, is instantly a top pair candidate for the Titans, who could surely use the help on the back end. The 5-foot-11, 190 pounder out of Worcester, Mass. had been spending his eighth pro season in Italy with Milan, for whom he’d tallied 15 points in 36 contests. Degon is no stranger to the ECHL, having played for the Reading Royals just last season. He racked up 11 points in 22 games for them last season, and Trenton would certainly take that kind of production.
They’ll be doing without Berube’s production for at least the foreseeable future. Still just 22 years old, the personable French-Canadian put up a 3-5-8 line in ten games for the Titans, and has yet to play in an AHL game this season. In 45 career games at that level, he has just one goal and six assists.
