As the Titans head to what feels like a critical two-game set in Elmira, they continue to make adjustments to a roster that has now lost seven of its last eight games.
Trenton bench boss Vince Williams had recently mentioned that forward Alexandre Beauregard, who started the season on the 21-Day IR, had started skating and was an asset due to his grit. It seemed like he was getting very close to making his pro debut.
That debut will not come for the Titans. Beauregard was released on Tuesday, with the 21-year-old forward likely pushed out by the addition of Kelsey Wilson on Monday. In addition, Alexandre Carrier (pictured), was placed on the reserve list.
Property of the Devils, the 21-year-old forward hasn’t registered a point in his first four pro games, but has tallied 11 penalty minutes. It is entirely possible that several other Devils prospects could join the Titans before the season is out, and that doesn’t necessarily just mean the returns of Harry Young or Chris McKelvie.
As for Beauregard, in an interesting twist — and this is just me thinking out loud — he sure would be a nice fit for the Reading Royals, who recently lost pesky but skilled forward Alex Berry to an AHL call-up.
